History project reflections

What to say? A big thank you to my teammers! HuiXian, like especially to you! Jamie & JiaLe too!!! On the part I played which was metallurgy, I jolly well had learnt a little. Like the Indians have that long pole thing that never rusted till now. Iron Pillar of Delhi. Which the people of today have not solve the secret to this amazing creation. & to think we actually called them less advance. lol. I really would have wanted to do more work. All I did was reasearch then summarise it then gave it to HuiXian. She seriously should have deserved more marks compared to I but, my teammer were nice enough to gimme credit for small matters like the model. THANK YOU! The only way I could have improved on it is basically just to have done more work. Oh, & to have presented. I guess I was the only teammer would did not present as well as the others. T_T. Sadly. Group work was fine I guess. Could see the 'bond' when we all were doing the poster. Jamie with her cartoons. Jiale with her animations. HuiXian with the final-isation & I was like thinking of what to draw for metals. Which I resorted to drawing cubes like the metals I collect while playing crazy planets. lol. Hope to work with them soon again ! ^_^

Another thing,

  • In a country like Singapore which is multi-religious, what are the possible
    challenges we might face?
  • How can we overcome these challenges?
  • How was Religions and philosophies important to the people of the ancient civilisations?

The possible challenges we might face is learning to accept one anothers' culture. For example, some of the Chinese burn hell paper due to religious believes. Smoke & ashes are produced in the process leaving neighbours have to deal will the ashes blowing into their homes & the unhealthy air inhaled. Also, during Chinese funerals, loud hymns will be sang throughout the night. For the malays, during weddings, 'happy' songs will be played in the morning. Awakening the neighbours from their deep sleeps. Indians have this certain liking to jasmine flowers and burning 'flower' oil. Which I, by the way, totally respect. But some people do not know how to appreciate the aroma of these 'flower' scent. Singapore naturally growing up in a multi-racial city has no problems dealing with such. That's why children in schools make friends with kids from other races. ^~^ ! Hinduism, Buddism & Islam had a great impact on the way the people of ancient India lived. These religions guided many ancient SEAsian rulers in the way they governed. For example, in mainland SEA, Khmer kings became Hindu divind kings & had their people construct capital cities in which their places represented the home of the gods. Howerer, as in ancient China, the people of ancient Southwast Asia did not entirelt follow the teachings of their new religions & abondon their olf beliefs. Instead, they combined their older beliefs with the teachings of their new religions. Today, the religions of Hinduism, Buddism & Islam continued to shap the lives of people in SEA.

Overdued Assignments

OMG, just realised that I haven't done my History blog,

  • What were the similarities between the government & society of the 3 ancient civilisations?
  • What were the differences between he government & society of the 3 ancient civilisations?
  • How similar or different are their systems with Singapore's?

Lets see,

  • The social system becomes more complex as the number of social class increases when a society grows & more occupations are created. Thus, order was brought to the societies & gave the members a sense of identity. Everyone knew the jobs they had to do. At the top of the pyramid will be the ruling class of the social system.
  • Government in Ancient India was divided into four groups . While Ancient China was divided into 2 groups . Southeast Asia was divided into Capital, Provinces and Vassal states.Southeast Asia is not made up of one large piece of land it consists of two distinct areas-mainland and island while India and China is made up of one large piece of land.
China has the Shi while Southeast Asia has governors appointed by the kings. There is feudalism in China but not in Southeast Asia and India.
  • Singapore do not have a class system unlike the other 3 civillisations.
